Blue Heron Park is a 240-acre nature preserve on Staten Island's south shore, with kettle ponds, woodlands, and meadow habitats. The Blue Heron Park Nature Center has small exhibits and Urban Park Rangers run free family programming including pond ecology walks, birdwatching, and nature crafts. Trails are stroller-friendly in some sections, more rugged in others — useful for kids age 3 and up. Located on Poillon Avenue in Annadale, accessible by S78 bus.
