Brooklyn Bridge Park Environmental Education Center
About
Brooklyn Bridge Park's Environmental Education Center houses a 250-gallon estuarium with a rotating collection of East River fish and invertebrates caught in seining and fishing programs. Free family programs include the Park's monthly Family Fishing Day, where rangers teach kids to catch and release fish from the East River. Located at 99 Plymouth Street in Dumbo, accessible from the F train at York Street. Open afternoons Thursday through Sunday during park season. Suitable for kids age 4 through teen. Particularly useful for families curious about urban ecology — kids can see what actually lives in the East River.
