Code4NYC
About
Code4NYC was created by Bronx Science high school students in 2023 to bridge the education gap for low-income NYC families. The organization hosts free virtual coding classes for middle and elementary school kids citywide, specializing in Python and Java. Classes are taught by Bronx High School of Science students and other volunteer high schoolers, which keeps the tone approachable for younger kids. As a free, virtual, student-run program, the schedule rotates seasonally with new sessions announced via the website. Best fit for kids who want serious coding exposure without family budget concerns.
