Floyd Bennett Field is part of the federal Gateway National Recreation Area on Brooklyn's southeast shore. NPS rangers run free family programs including hawk-watching, salt marsh exploration, historic aviation tours of the original 1930s airfield buildings, and the popular Ranger-Led Junior Ranger program. Suitable for kids age 4 through teen. Strong fit for South Brooklyn families wanting expansive open-space recreation including biking, picnicking, and bird-watching. Located off Flatbush Avenue at the Marine Parkway Bridge.
