Forest Park Carousel is a restored historic carousel built in 1903 and now operating in Forest Park's Woodhaven section. The carousel is a NYC landmark and one of the few hand-carved wooden carousels remaining in the country. Open seasonally, typically April through October. Tickets are inexpensive — useful for a low-key outdoor afternoon paired with a Forest Park hike or playground visit. Located near Woodhaven Boulevard and Forest Park Drive, accessible by Q11 bus. Best for younger kids.
