The Greenbelt Nature Center is the gateway to the 2,800-acre Staten Island Greenbelt — the largest contiguous nature preserve in NYC. Family programming includes Mini Camp, Peepers, and Tree Tots for young naturalists, plus naturalist-led hikes through the Blue Trail into Latourette Park for wetlands and birdwatching. Indoor exhibits cover Greenbelt ecology and wildlife. Located on Rockland Avenue near the central Staten Island woodlands, accessible by S57 bus. Suitable for kids age 2 through teen. Trail systems range from stroller-friendly paved loops to longer rugged hikes for older kids.
