High Rock Park
About
High Rock Park is a 90-acre Greenbelt section near the Greenbelt Nature Center with the most rugged hiking trails on Staten Island. Trails include the Yellow, Red, and White Trail systems through hardwood forest, kettle ponds, and the highest natural point in NYC at the summit of Todt Hill. Urban Park Rangers Family Camping overnight events happen here a few times a year. Suitable for kids age 6 and up given the trail terrain. Located off Nevada Avenue, accessible by car. Particularly useful for families with elementary-school-aged kids who can hike longer distances.
