Hunter's Point South Park is a 30-acre waterfront park on the Long Island City East River shoreline, with playgrounds, native plant gardens, a kayaking dock, and direct skyline views. Free family programming includes Family Fishing Days, native plant gardening workshops, and seasonal events. The park's protected wetlands and meadow areas are part of the East River estuary ecology — Urban Park Rangers run free walks identifying birds and native plants. Located at the southern end of LIC, walking distance from the Vernon-Jackson 7 train.
