Marine Park Alliance partners with NYC Parks to maintain Marine Park, NYC's largest park (798 acres). The Alliance runs family programming including birdwatching walks, salt marsh stewardship days, and seasonal events at the Salt Marsh Nature Center. Volunteer opportunities welcome kids and families for hands-on ecology work. Most programs are free. The salt marsh trail system is one of the few places in NYC where kids can experience tidal estuary ecology up close. Suitable for kids age 4 through teen.
