Music and Method

About

Music and Method has been teaching Staten Island kids music literacy since 2002. Founder Edmund Yu personally teaches piano, guitar, violin, and voice. The school has expanded to woodwind instruments including bassoon, clarinet, flute, and saxophone. Lessons are private and individualized — no group classes. Suitable for ages 5 and up. The 'method' emphasizes music reading and theory alongside instrument technique, which sets up kids for school band and orchestra programs.
