NYC Urban Park Rangers run free programs citywide that connect kids with nature through guided hikes, kayaking, fishing, birdwatching, and seasonal events. In Manhattan, programs operate out of Central Park, Inwood Hill Park, Riverside Park, and other parks. Kids and Family Programs are designed for ages 4 and up, with separate Family Camping overnights at Riis Park and other locations. All programming is free, though advance registration is required for most events. Useful for families looking for high-quality nature programming without paying private-camp prices.
